Can OAuth2 run alone?

I am trying to use OAuth2 in my API authentication. Can I use OAuth2 wihout using Service Provider like, Facebook, Doorkeeper? Can OAuth2 can run alone? If it can? How does OAuth2 behaves or how is th process to do in my own app?
