How to track User Activity

which is best gem to track user activity ?. I have used public_activity gem the problem with that gem is that you have to call activity method from other methods which you want to keep track.

I want something like there should be separate config file where i can mention which methods or actions to be tracked

for example config file

def track
 user index
 user edit
end

any help would be appreciated.
