How to build the Template changing Feature - Ruby on Rails

We are in a situation where we'll need to give an option to change the layout of the entire application, and For Your information, the application is being build on Ruby on Rails.

As you may have known, we have created a separate 'view' folder that contains the all design elements of the application, nested under the Application's main folder. We are looking at a strategy where we can nest multiple designs under separate 'Layout' folders under the 'View' folder, so that we can apply the necessary layout as and when required.

For example:

Application > View > Layout 1 > Users
Application > View > Layout 2 > Users
Application > View > Layout 3 > Users

Do let us know if this one will work to give the most effective and efficient solution. If not please suggest me the best solution.
