How do I recreate the rotten potatoes Rails application?

I took the first SAAS course offered by edX but I'd like to learn how to recreate the rotten potatoes Rails application in Rails 4 or the latest version of Rails? I don't know how to start? Do I install the haml gem and scaffold everything? Specifically, how do I recreate the dynamic list of movies? Is it some sort of Rails dynamic data table?
