Hosted Ruby on Rails App - Creating a IOS / Android App

I have existing Web apps that are running on ruby on rails.

What suggestions are there to be able to create mobile apps that works nicely with rails and the hosted database.

The app needs to sync data from the hosted database so there is offline use.

What suggestions - Phonegap - Rubymotion

I would like suggestions people that have done this
