Use python in ruby on rails or python web app?

I have a desktop application built in python2.7 . Now i want to convert it into a web application. I am familiar with building a web application using rails. But i have no experience of how to build a web application using python.

What is the best option whether to use python in ruby on rails or to learn how to build a web application in python??
