DHTML grid and link_to function not working in rails 3

I am displaying some data in a DHTML grid, i have a link_to function which generates the following html.

<a data-remote="true" href="/reemail/1" title="Reemail">Reemail</a>

but the page reloads and the action is not called using ajax. Any help here will be appreciated, Thanks.
